Launched in 2017, Tinker Gin was created with love, by Jym and Marie Harris, founders of GinFestival.com, using years of industry knowledge and going on a distilling journey. The mission? To create the perfect, easy drinking G&T. The result? A fresh, fruity flavour, less dry than traditional gins, that’s seriously drinkable.
Tinker Gin is beautifully crafted, refreshingly light and fruity, packed with bright citrus and sherbet notes, showcasing the signature use of elderberry. The 40% ABV is stealthily integrated, providing a finish that is alarmingly smooth! Sit back and relax with this extremely tasty easy-drinker.
It all started with husband and wife, Jym and Marie Harris when they founded, GinFestival.com in 2013. From day 1 we have been on a mission to bring the best craft gins, packed full of flavour, to as many people as possible, while supporting both home-grown and international brands of gin and tonic. We love and are massively proud to have built up a loyal gin community online and at our events.
The dream of Jym, Marie and the team at GinFestival.com was always to make our own gin and in 2016 we ran a successful crowdfunder campaign, launching Tinker in 2017.
Tinker Gin has been everything we dreamed it would be. In fact, it is the biggest seller and most popular brand table at Gin Festival events and our online gin shop! It is so rewarding that you have taken our gin to your hearts.
Dan Walsh has been in the thick of our Gin Festival experience since the very early days and is a familiar face to many hardcore GinFest goers. Having stumbled into the Gindustry from an unorthodox background of school teaching and touring in rock bands, this cheeky scouser seems to have found a new fanbase in the world of gin.
"The GinFest crowds like a drink and a laugh, so we tend to get on."
After several years supervising the Gin Festival bars, working with hundreds of artisan gins, Dan jumped on board with the new Tinker Gin project, launched early 2017.
"The Tinker Gins are more about easy-drinking, fresh citrus, fruity flavours and less about dry juniper than the classic G&T."
Why 'Tinker Gin'? This easy drinker was named after the way we came up with the tasty recipe. We 'tinkered' with different botanicals and experimented with flavours to create the perfect G&T.
Each new batch taught us something; we had to make revisions and then fine-tune what we'd learnt. After months of experimentation and making alterations - we perfected our recipe.
It’s that recipe that we would eventually go on to call Tinker Gin.
"Love Tinker Gin. It is light and smooth and when served with light tonic and a slice of pear is one of my very favourite gins. Perfect for summer."
"Beautiful gin. Converted my gin hating friend into a fan of gin. Only tinker gin though!"
